Super foods?
Have you heard of them?
Things like nuts, eggs, berries, yogurt, salmon, avocado and kale.
What makes a super food super?
Not because it's bad for you. Because it, by itself, is so good for you, you are actually doing "super" things to your body by eating them.
And goodness gracious did I need a bunch of super foods this week! It. Has. Been. A. Doozy.
While I love all of those super foods up there, wanna know my new favorite?
Quinoa!
I just learned about quinoa in November. And I still have a hard time not pronouncing it "kwi-no-a," rather than it's correct pronunciation "keen-wah."
From my first bite I was hooked. Yummy. It's a complete protein, did you know that?
What's a complete protein? It's a protein that contains all essential amino acids.
And thanks to the lovely, lovely Pinterest, I just found 10 "new" ways to cook quinoa.
And I found a Barbecue Chicken Quinoa salad.
And a quinoa salad with scallops and snowpeas.
And just like that - you have several ways to try this tasty little superfood too!
